Skoda is launching the all-new Elroq, a compact electric SUV starting at 34,990 euros. With the Elroq, Skoda is arming itself against the popular Volvo EX30 and promising Kia EV3. The new model can be ordered immediately so that the first buyers can still benefit from the SEPP scheme ending in 2024.

After numerous teasers, Skoda has finally pulled the cover off the long-awaited Elroq. With this compact, 100% electric SUV, the Czech Volkswagen subsidiary has a serious answer ready to the success of the Volvo EX30 and the high expectations surrounding the Kia EV3. With a starting price of 34,990 euros, the Elroq is in any case priced razor-sharp in the market. The car can be ordered immediately, so that ‘early adopters’ of the new Skoda can still benefit from the SEPP subsidy scheme.

With the Elroq, Skoda is also launching a new family face, which is cryptically described as ‘Modern Solid’. High-positioned daytime running lights and headlights integrated into the outer air intakes define the new face of the car. And not just that of the Elroq, because all future Skodas will also be designed according to the ‘Modern Solid’ philosophy. For the rear of the Elroq, the designers felt less of a need to rigorously cut the familiar shapes. The similarities with models such as the Karoq and Kamiq are visible.

First of all, the interior of the Elroq exudes calm. The car could not escape a drastic digitalization drive – with a 13-inch display in the center and a compact TFT screen behind the steering wheel – but we mainly see a homely and quiet environment. There are also many physical buttons to be seen. This generally benefits the ease of use of all kinds of systems.

The Elroq wouldn’t be a Skoda if the interior didn’t offer oceans of space. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 470 liters and can be expanded to a volume of 1580 liters by folding down the rear seat. For clever details such as the height-adjustable parcel shelf and the storage net for the charging cable underneath, you can also safely knock on Skoda’s door.

The Skoda Elroq can be ordered immediately, in three different battery and power variants. In the Elroq 50, which has a 55kWh battery, the electric motor delivers 170 hp. This version has a range of 374 kilometers. The Elroq 60 (63 kWh, 449 km) has an engine with a power of 204 hp. The top model is the Elroq 85, in which a power of 286 hp is released on the rear wheels. For the top model with an 85kWh battery, Skoda gives a range of 579 hp and the highest charging capacity of 175 kW.

Skoda will offer the Elroq in three different equipment levels: Selection, Business Edition, and Sportline. The starting price of 34,990 euros applies to the Elroq 50 Selection. The version with a 63kWh battery is available for 37,990 euros, the Elroq 85 Sportline is listed for 42,890 euros. The amounts mentioned include five years of free maintenance.
